Authorship

With the central topic »Authorship,« Akademie Schloss Solitude examined the concept of authorship and the status of the author in the twenty-first century from a transdisciplinary perspective. In a series of three events held between 2015 and 2016, different cultures of authorship in the arts, humanities, social sciences, exact and natural sciences with their forms of individual and co-authorship were discussed. In cooperation with the Academy of Performing Arts Baden-Wuerttemberg, ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe and the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts, authorship was looked at regarding the issue of whether artist as authors are becoming obsolete in the digital age. A focal emphasis was finally put on questions of authorship from economic, political and juridical as well as non-western perspectives.
